KARACHI: Various exploration and production (E&P) companies have startedcarrying out work on 15 oil and gas fields in Balochistan after they were givengreen signal by the provincial government, Additional Secretary Ministry ofPetroleum and Natural Resources G A Sabri said.He said the Balochistan government has issued security clearance to 15 licencesissued to different companies out of 25 licences aimed at stepping up work onexploration and production of oil and gas from natural resources of theprovince.The majority of firms have started seismic activities on their respective fieldsand would start drilling activities on their projects soon, he added.Sabir said that the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved thepetroleum policy, but has forwarded it to another committee of Corporate SocialResponsibility for resolving all the undecided and contentious issues.
